Which destroyers have more glide? The new runs with dome? Or the flatter older run?

The vulcan topped destroyers are a completely different game. The good 'old' AJ Destroyers are not vulcan topped, they have a nice flat top without the distinctive 'hard angle' of the vulcan topped ones. Once you see a vulcan topped Destroyer it's impossible not to notice it.

A far as newer runs... the Wiggins Destroyers that came out in the proshop are bordering on vulcan topped, but are pretty damn sweet in their own right.

I think the 'older' flatter AJ runs have more glide than the newer, pop-top, ones. But that is just anecdotal.

Really though, if you want max glide... Pro Destroyer is the only way to go.

There are other people on this board with so much more Destroyer knowledge than me. Hopefully they can chime in and add some deep knowledge.

I understand they look different. I know how to tell the difference but what do they do different?

Vulcan tops have a lot more turn unless you get a really flippy regular destroyer.

vulcan topped ones are - again anecdotally - said to have no glide and more turn than a normal destroyer. most destroyer fans seem to think they are garbage.

the flatter topped 'old' AJ stamped ones have a bit more turn than the pop-topped ones and have a good amount of glide. they are a pretty nice run if you can find one and fill a different slot in the bag than the super overstable pop-tops.

So are all the new pop top destroyers real overstable? Like more or less overstable then the bottom stamped?

Get a 2 Star (1 AJ and 1 GStar maybe?), a Champ, and a Pro.

I would recommend 2 Stars, one 175g and one 170g, since the AJ's tend to be a bit inconsistent in stability (I've thrown both a meathook and a flippy AJ Star Destroyer); this way you'll be most likely to get two different stabilities, one of which will be better than the other for you.
The Destroyer that does not get enough credit is the Champion. I throw a Star and a Champ and prefer the Champ for open fields. I can flip the Star pretty nicely (it usually flies around 450'), and the Champ is good for full power S-curves at the same distance.

I think it has more to do with the shape of the Destroyer than which run. Flatter ones have more glide and can get more distance. Poppy ones are more overstable. And then there's everything in between.
