Default Shot Tracer

After watching SpinTV's coverage of the European Open I couldn't help but marvel at the shot tracers they put on some of the more impressive shots. I was wondering what software and expertise would be required to do that on some of my own shots. Hopefully some video-makers out there can help.

Final Round Radio had an interview with the Jomez crew shortly after Worlds. They discussed the process and editing time.

I really like it for DG.
I really hated it when the NHL used it.

When the NHL used it, it was super distracting, and was only used for a year or so because seasoned fans hated it.(It looked like a flaming comet). It was only tried because newer viewers to ice hockey had trouble following the puck.

Jomez uses it on shot replays.

The NHL used it during live action.

There is an older youtube video that used a shot tracker demonstrating flight paths for a ton of throws.

Anybody have a link to that video previously mentioned or know the software off the top of your head?
