Default Meathook Putters

Who else here keeps a super overstable putter in their bag?

I've been keeping a Vibram VP in my bag for open approach shots and control hyzers. It's also great for overhand rollers when I'm buried. I let a forehander buddy of mine throw it, (who flicks an xcal 450+ ft.) Full power with only a slight hyzer, it still wouldn't flip over. It seems that my VP is super HSS, and moderately LSS.

I picked up a max weight Pro Pig a week ago in hopes that the more shallow rim would help me get a better grip, or maybe some more speed out of it.
That thing is ridiculous! Where the VP or a brand new wizard just hooks up and fades hard, the Pig just seems to hit its apex, turn 90degrees and dive straight for the ground. Still a fun disc to throw, but I don't know that it'll make my bag. HSS 0, LSS one billion.

I have an ESP Zone and I absolutely LOVE it. I don't think I would have ever bought it for myself as I got it in my discraft misprint pack, but I am so happy I did. I use it for flick up shots, and to get out of trouble all of the time. It's so reliable and predictable, definitely a must have in my bag.

dgcr has been falling in love with the zone lately, so i'll go ahead and say ESP zone

i tried a ringer once and didn't care for it, but i'd like to try a zone in nice plastic for overstable upshots where i don't need something as powerful as my drone

I used to carry a Pro Pig in my bag, but it lost its spot to a new Pro Rhyno. I carry 3 Rhynos now, and I have yet to encounter a shot I shouldn't be able to hit with a Rhyno. Until then--Piggy's on the bench.

I think the Rhyno is a much more useful disc than the Pig. The Vibram VP reminds me a lot of a new Rhyno though. Flat even when torqued, predictable fade, never going to sail on you, but also never going to crush it.

I am intrigued by the Zone. Anyone ever thrown both the VP and the Zone? Comparisons?

The zone is a more low profile putter (think classic roc) but is way more overstable.

Very good for windy putting.

More overstable than the VP? Like Pig overstability? I don't know if I got an especially overstable VP, but like I mentioned in the original post, my cannon-handed sidearming buddy couldn't flip that thing even when he tried.

Way more overstable than a rhyno, pig, or vp
