Maybe.
Ask and you shall receive (photos that aren't of excellent quality. Nonetheless...)

I don't have a Mamba on hand to compare it to, but...

Must resist disc buying urge. I should wait until someone actually throws one before impulse buying, right?

Maybe an understable driver will work out better for me than the Flash did.

Maybe I'm making excuses

If it makes you feel any better, on Monday I told myself I wasn't going to buy any because I just bought two Astras to try off the MP.

On Wednesday, I bought an Aries.

I'm gonna try to get out and throw it today if I can, so I'll keep you posted. I'm not a big arm at all, but if this is slightly more stable than a Mamba I think it will be a keeper.

Well today I got two champ Vipers off the factory store, so we'll see how long I can last.

I'm sure you'd beat me in a distance competition Maybe a Mamba would be right for me

Probably not. I've got no business throwing high speed stuff. Which is exactly why I'm throwing it, haha.

Got the Aries out to the field tonight. I'm maxing out at about 320 on a great pull these days, and this evening was maxing closer to 300.

Here's the lineup of what I was throwing tonight:

160 g Sirius Aries
162 g Star Tern
158 g Millennium Astra (worn)
161 g Sparkle Quantum Astra
170 g Neutron Amp (worn)

For the most part, the results were as I expected: The Tern was going the farthest, with the Astra and Aries coming in closer together. Occasionally, though, I would put the Amp out longer than all of them, due to more nose angle control and familiarity with it.

As for the Aries, I would agree that it is a more stable Mamba, but it is not overstable. It can go dead straight with a little fade, or can do nice turnover lines.

Where I struggled with it, though, was the same issue I had with the Mamba: nose up. I know this is me, and not the disc, as I am not that great of a thrower. But there were a few times where I would just get a straight flight and a nose up stall out. On the whole, I was inconsistent at best with it.

I will say, though, that even on those stall outs, the fade was pretty glidey and forward penetrating. So even when I didn't click with it, I still got it out there OK.

Compared to the Tern, it didn't have as much lateral play. And while the Tern would dump more in its fade, it was still longer on the whole.

I'm not really sure where this leaves me. Realistically, I probably should just stick with the Amp and call it a day. But the extra 20-30 feet I can get out of something like the Aries or Tern is really enticing, so I am going to try and work with them to see which one I can get used to.

One last thought: The Aries is really comfortable in the hand, much more so than the Tern. The rim is smaller and doesn't have that elongated bead on it. That's just one reason to give it a shot.

TL;DR - If you're a noodle arm who can control some nose angle issues, the Aries is worth a shot. The plastic is nice, the glide is high, and it feels good in the hand. Not sure it's for me yet, but we'll see.

Academy Sports now has these. Bought one just to see. Aries in, Mamba out. For now.

I was really tempted to get one of these at Academy but I held out, having just gotten a Tern and being in love with my Renegade. Onemilemore, the Renegade might be what you're looking for. When they say "effortless distance" they're not kidding. It just rides forever. If there's wind involved I'll throw the Tern, because it has a more predictable fade.

The Aries felt great, though. Still, I'm glad I got the last Buzzz on the shelf -- needed that more.

The Aries crushes! When I throw mine with 75-80% power on a slight hyzer it will flip over and ride an s curve about 410-425ft. Landing about 30ft to the right from straight ahead of the box.
