I only measure on one particular hole that I throw. And I don't measure anything to the right of about a 30 foot wide landing area. If it looks close to or past my previous best, I break out udisc.

I have my local HS football field nearby. Very convenient for measuring up to 320' or so without needing a rangefinder.

HOWEVER: it's artificial turf, so I get a lot of ground play - much more than on real grass.

Find a slick frozen lake in a ripping tail wind and set it on edge.

That's the dream. Goalpost to goalpost. Through both of course.

Haha! Nice.

For anyone who hasn't seen this either, Ezra goes double fieldgoal with a couple discs:

Watching a 600+ thrower, I feel alot better about how difficult it was for me to throw though the double or even the single goal posts (4.5 years ago!)... I remember many throws feeling like they were through and then just missing in the last few feet and if you really flex it, then your ability to hit such a small window that far out gets really difficult with any wind.

I may have to go back and try again and see if I can get it done.

I’m wondering if everyone defines max the same way? Do you throw in a flat field like a softball or soccer field? Very little to no wind?

Of course you can’t always have ideal conditions for practice, but I’m wondering what folks are basing their max distance statements on?

If you throw 10 discs for max, how close would the average be to the max?

Depends on what I’m using the max distance number for. If it’s for decisions on the course, then I have a pretty good idea of how far I can throw each of my molds. If it’s for a pissing contest on the internet, then it’s the furthest I’ve ever thrown plus about 20-30 feet.
