When the extra weight starts hurting your back. I had to back down to 5 when I dropped to a smaller bag. 15 total discs and 5 of those are putters.

You can not carry too many putters IMO. Im carrying 6 as well (plus two extra putters for putting practice so really 8). If you bring nothing but putters you are still likely to do very well IMO. My best score on my local course was set throwing only a putter, 2 shots better than my full bag score. Putters is where it's at

I've bagged up to 7 before. 2 Zones (Z and Pro-D), 3 Lunas (2 regs and a Cryztal), 1 Rattler and a X Soft Chally. Also had a round where I had 2 Zones, Chally, Chally OS, Luna, Focus, Rattler. Anything over 7 is probably overkill, but 7 I could see being manageable, especially if one is a lid and another is a softer disc.

It was more of a rhetorical question, haha. I regularly carry at least 5, sometimes 6.

Also I consider the Gator/Caiman/Zone slot to be more of a midrange. That would add another 1-2 if you consider it a putter.

nice weight on that Polecat. I have some 175g PCs and they aren't nearly as good IMO. The extra weight mutes alll the qualities that make it a spectacular disc. My lightest one is 100g and is fantastic for certain things but not so good for an all-around disc.

You can never carry too many putters IMO... my bag is always biased towards putters

My first Polecats were 150-class DX, and they are great discs. I got a Champion Polecat, which is 175g because that was all that was available. It is an awesome disc, and is the one I bag and throw approaches with. The extra weight may make the 175g Polecat be a bit different than the 150-class Polecat, but it doesn't mitigate the Polecat's greatness.

I do not like DX plastic at all, yuck on the waxy feel, KC colorglow would be so much better.

Fyi, 3 acetone baths with vigorous scrubbing and light sanding in between bath, gets rid of quite a bit of that waxy feel. Only way I can bag DX.

The XT Polecat might be what you want, I have felt a XT Colt in a store and if I was not already using a different putter I would have went to that mold as it felt similar a #2 Upshot disc I use for uphill/downhill putting but in better plastic. The XT is stiff like old DX or what the current Classic Grid Aviar discs are stiff like but minus the wax.

The early XT Polecats were really waxy. Not sure about the newer runs.
