Paul said on instagram that he hurt his right ankle on the first hole in R1 and he said "I have decided to end my year."

So no Paul, Ricky or Eagle in the National Tour Finale?

I think the time off will benefit Paul greatly.

Consider not just the wear and tear of being a professional. He's had to practice harder to learn a new bag. He's had to test his PMB line of products. He's had to do all of the media commitments for a new sponsor and answer a higher volume of questions. Now add in Hannah and him building out their home, the private course, working with Foundation Disc Golf, being a great husband, etc et al. What I saw at USDGC was much less physical and much more the mind and heart saying, "I need to stop, renew, and rearm."

We'll know we've reached the big time when social media beefs get the major media's attention.
