yes,
the thread is more of a preseason poll or guess. I'm not awarding anything.

I was totally joking with that post. I'm all for giving kudos to those folks that are improving the body of reviews here.

It's been years since I made a significant contribution on the review side of things. Hoping to get back on the horse, but all the reasons that led to the decline are still in play.




Also, the line that goes with that Blues Brothers scene immediately came to mind when I read this thread.

I'm going to get into it this week. This past week is typically the busiest of the semester in my office but this week will be much more relaxed.

I also want to recount some of the larger reviewers as I'm noticing the final tallies of the individual years added up do not always match the overall review number DGCR has. Would there be a reason for that? Deleted reviewed from the past?

I get it; my reviews written to courses played score (0.26) isn't high enough. Plus, I'm only about 25 unique voters away from Diamond. :O

I’m fortunate. I wrote about a dozen reviews in the early days (2008-2012) that weren’t very detailed or good, but I snagged some unique thumbs from DGCR users that perhaps haven’t frequented the site in a decade.

Alrighty, here's the top review contributor for each year from 2008 to 2022:

2008: Innovadude, 129
2009: Dave242, 220
2010: mashnut, 223
2011: mashnut, 158
2012: mashnut, 149
2013: reposado, 109
2014: A TIE, with Valkyrie Kid and mndiscg each with 102
2015: The Valkyrie Kid, 146
2016: The Valkyrie Kid, 172
2017: The Valkyrie Kid, 158
2018: wellsbranch250, 149
2019: MrFrosty, 117
2020: MrFrosty, 175
2021: Shadrach3, 111
2022: Shadrach3, 101

Some things I found interesting:
1. While never getting the top spot, harr0410 provided the second most reviews in '09, '11, and '12.
2. Two particularly close races were in 2018, where Valkyrie Kid is 2nd by 2 reviews, and 2022, where HyooMac was just 4 reviews behind Shadrach.
3. DiscGolfCraig is another notable name to not get the top spot in a given year, simply because his reviews are spread out more, with many years or 30+ reviews.

2007 is an interesting year that will take me more time to lock in a winner, as the review counts are just much smaller since the site was brand new. I plan to fill out top 25s for each year, and will also catch up on 2023 to track this year's top review counts as well. I still have a lot to look through, but so far, I have HyooMac leading with 17 reviews, followed by Surge5, Wellsbranch250, and DiscGolfCraig with 10 each, and DFrah with 9.
