Hey! Just an introduction. I've been playing around for about 6 months, and enjoying it. Looking at this forum for a few months. We have a course close to the house: Chicken plant. Nice and woody/shady and a little hilly. I think I have hit every tree on that course.

I want to develop some consistency in my tee throw, not looking for big distance as much as a consistent throw of about 150 feet with accuracy.

I am reading posts below, and checking youtube. Thanks for any tips/video links, etc.

Some field work at the Harness track infield. 94 degrees, but a bit cloudy and a nice breeze. Sorry, I have no idea how to turn the picture upright, I thought I had done that.

Hey all, What should be the first area of attention for improving at a consistent throw? Too many individual things to think about at one time. Grip, drawback, angle of hand, release, maybe followthough, where to place hand? I cant think of improving all those things at once. Footwork maybe? What do you think? Thanks!

Work on getting a straight, flat release from a standstill with putters from about a 100'. Gradually move back.
Find a group of golfers to golf with regularly. Watch as many shots as you can and see what works and what does not work for others.
Develop a forehand.
Practice putting everyday.

Thanks, I did that today and can see the benefit. I don't like the grip on the putters; my fingers don't tuck in well, but they do go straight. I need more discs!

I've seen several people suggest this about the putters - I bought a 3-pack of Aviars from Amazon to start. I've got 10 different putters now, and I practice with them a few times a week. The hardest part is not running to the tee and playing a real round! It's tough to just stand there and throw.

But in the 2 months I've been doing this, I can see consistent progress. I can't break 200' feet reliably yet, so I'm not qualified to give you advice like the other folks here. But this putter thing seems to be sound logic. Good luck on your progress!

If you don't have one already, get yourself a Comet. It's a mid-range that goes where you throw it, and it's got a nice shallow profile. To me, it acts just like a putter, but will get you more distance without having to really change what you're doing with the putters - except for the grip, I guess. I'm a very recent Comet convert; the thing flies on a rope, with some under-stable tendencies. Indispensable addition to my bag. (I've been playing a long time, so it's easy to say all this. But I believe it's the perfect disc. Followed closely by a Truth.)

Welcome to the Forum, NC Trailrunner. Hope you enjoy your time here.

Just drive north about an hour and pay me for lessons.

(Your home course is one of my favorites, great course)
