The rule specifically reads "Alternatively, the player may mark the lie by placing a mini marker disc on the playing surface, touching the front of the thrown disc on the line of play."

While not as descriptive as the previous rules, a complete process is spelled out and the mini marker can end up in only one place. It doesn't say that the thrown disc may be picked up and the marker disc deposited in a place that would have coincided with the front edge of the thrown disc.

Right. And with that there are rules discussions here where memory of the old rules are bad and some where it seems better or at least supply clarity but are they correct?

I would think it would be the desire to be able to read the rules as a brand new player, maybe caveat someone who has spent a good amount of time studying rules of other sports, maybe even a qualified official in other sports, be able to read the rules grasp an understanding and go out to the course and not foul up the process.

And with this case we can go back to the interference rule that was brought up in a thread not long ago where it says "Moving or obscuring a thrown disc or marker disc (other than in the process of identification, retrieval, marking, *snip*"

This makes it sound like it is normal to move the disc while placing the mini?

It was literally under the basket. If you can’t see that glaring detail and shrug off whatever minuscule perceived slight you may have otherwise felt, I feel immensely sorry for you as a person.

Please include a meme! Maybe the text could be "close enough."

This lazy mark job didnt bother me...Nikkos constant attention seeking whining and slow walk pouting around the green on the other hand.......

Thank goodness he isnt on coverage very much anymore. His "intense" play isnt enjoyable to listen to.

How do you mark that if the thrown disc is touching the pole? Lean the mini against the pole? I'd just use another disc, yeah, but I guess if you didn't routinely carry another disc with you and you set your bag afar using a mini would save time.
