Anyone else got the virus?!
I've decided the Virus is a straight up replacement for my old Sidewinder slot. I'd moved away from that, but its a lot of fun to put out a nice hyzer flipped laser in a control power level. That said, I tend to reserve the Virus for anny's and use the Insanity for straight shots. The Insanity gives me a little more confidence on those.

So I just threw my 155 Virus... oh boy does this flip. My first shot backhand almost flipped 180 before hitting the ground. It is definitely a sky anny disc. maybe I went too light.

Plasma rim proton Virus video on YouTube by tk disc golf. Testing durability of plasma rim, so no shots of flights but still cool. The plasma rims look pretty sweet.

If I knew how I would've posted the vid

If you're getting that action from a light Neutron, try a heavy Proton. I now bag a 165 N for turning shots and easy flips and a 174 P for long straight shots. Still US, but well behaved in heavy Proton.

Plasma rims were released in 150 class of Proton Virus only AFAIK. I've read that weight additives in heavier overmolds cancels out the look of the Plasma.

Vasco I would say yes.

I put a 171g Proton Virus in the bag to try out. So far I've been liking it's ability to hyzer flip and keep turning. I love the current Proton plastic. Seeming to be a reliable turnover disc. Anyone else bagging the Virus for US slot?

thanks for your reply. i already got my virus since october and its plasma-rimmed indeed.
very nice disc for a beginner as me, but im still struggling with it. seems to be very sensitive to release angle as i sometimes get some of my longest straight drives ever with it and with just the slightest change of release its going far, far to the left (thrown lhbh) and never comes back. i still dont use the virus that much in serious rounds cause its just like gambling for me.

Throw it in a hyzer flip line for consistent flight.

Any US thrown "flat" is going to fly oddly bc players generally cannot throw a perfectly flat shot even if they think they are. A little bit of hyzer release on a US mold will help control early turn and easy to see if throwing nose up/down.

yep, of course thats right.
i just feel the gap between a too slight and too exaggerated hyzer quiet narrow. but i really enjoy learning it.
