Had a windy round the other day and felt a little unprepared on drivers. Added champ TB to cover that.

Shot like crap today but found something I've been missing from my game. After a few hiatuses from the sport, I have been concentrating on BH and not really driving FH. Throwing the champ TB today, I realized I haven't been carrying a disc I really can count on FH. The champ TB is that. Yeah, I know it means my form is shat. The RR and Blizz Destro are too flippy, for my form, to drive reliably. The dx TB is an old pfn that I save for tunnel and low ceilings, I never really drive off the tee with it. Anyways, the champ TB is just what I remember it to be, a laser with consistent fade. Everytime I FH'ed with it today, I saw the line I wanted and nailed it. Think that means the RR is coming out as the Blizz Destro has been the main BH distance driver lately. So the new setup will look like:

DX Rhyno *3 - one grippy Rancho for putts. two Sanny for short work

DX VRoc *2 - most mid shots

Star Gator - Gator stuff

DX Teebird - tunnel shots

Champ Teebird *2 - FH distance and wind

Blizz Destroyer - BH distance

Might look at picking up a Firebird again for longer OS shots, but I think the Gator and champ TB cover most of what I need.

Other good FH options that might be longer/more os......
Starfire, Thunderbird, Vulture (thought I would slip you some DC and see if you were paying attention)
The Starfire X mold is an undersung one. Great for mildly OS (less than a Firebird) FH/BH shots. I always clicked with it, and it feels/flies more like a broken in FB than a Thunderbird does, to me.
The Vulture is one of the best new DC molds in a while. I have stability notes if you want to come over to the dark side.
Have a good weekend buddy.

I rocked the SL for many years. I love Pro plastic and wish the Teebird molded up better in it. A lot of folks liken the Thunderbird to a longer TB, but I felt the SL did that. After a hiatus, I couldn't throw the SL like used to and traded or sold them all after it went oop. Tried the ThB and liked it, but didn't feel like there was enough difference at the time to justify carrying it and TBs.

As far as DC, Innova was much more prominent around these parts when I started playing, and still is. Innova hooked me just because of their size all those years ago. I've had several DC molds in and out of the bag over the years and just haven't fallen in love with them. Same for other brands, especially Gateway since they are local, have been in and then back out. For awhile I had an all Gateway bag: Wizard, Chief OS, Scout/Warrior and Apache.

Have a good weekend too Muddy.

Played a one disc round at the local pitch and putt. Took out a Pinnacle Ghost that I picked up cheap. Definitely feels like a Roc in hand. Seemed to like holding straight and hyzer lines. Had a hard time holding anhyzer lines, that is the archer though. It also FHed pretty well. Didn't really care for the Pinnacle plastic, much too slick for putting. Very good looking plastic though, very pearly white. Overall seemed like a good disc for one disc rounds.

Side note. Going to take out the VRocs for my next real round. There are a lot of holes where I can't decide between the Rhyno or VRoc. Rhynos are just so consistent for me. So I'll see if I shoot any better without the mids.

Played a round without the VRocs and regret it. They do fill a gap between the Rhyno and TB for me. So while I don't throw them much, I need to understand when it is the better choice over the Rhyno.

DX Rhyno *3 - one grippy Rancho for putts. two Sanny for short work

DX VRoc - most mid shots

GStar VRoc - backup mid, more finish than DX

Star Gator - Gator stuff

DX Teebird - tunnel shots

Champ Teebird *2 - FH distance and wind

Blizz Destroyer - BH distance

Easy to cover everything when you can't throw far and only play casually.

Finally got out and played today. Man DG is good for the soul. Course was empty except for one park employee, so it was just nature, some discs and myself. Took the same old stuff, because it works for me, and played as well as expected. Couple birds and more bogeys. Had been awhile so I disced up and threw the VRoc more than usual and the throwing Rhynos sat in the bag most of the round.

DX Rhyno *3 - one grippy Rancho for P and A, two Sanny for short drives

DX VRoc - mid shots

GStar VRoc - backup mid, more finish than DX, threw this one more today as I felt control was off and didn't want to taco the DX.

Star Gator - Gator stuff and the one hole at the home course, I drive this off the tee FH. Gives me the distance and fade I need for this hole every time.

DX Teebird - tunnel shots

Champ Teebird *2 - one straighter and one beefier, the three TBs is a great setup for fairways between BH and FH

Blizz Destroyer - BH distance, my crutch and too windy today to be utilized on the open holes I want it on
