Basically a disc is in the basket if it penetrates the cylinder made from top of chains to bottom of the basket. So a disc sitting on the lower rim is in, a disc hanging on the top nubbins is in. Weirdly enough a disc hanging on the lower basket rim nubbins is in. I guess it's like the goal line in hockey, it crossed the line and hung up.

One that crams through the basket is not. Unless it definitely hit the pole then crammed in from the inside.

Is that someone starting crap this morning or is that legit?
Only skimmed your post, but all sounds legit. This gives details with a picture. https://www.pdga.com/faq/rules/qa-co...m-spanning-two

You can (should) start a new thread with this question, rather than sidetrack this one.

I was looking at an older rules version...
You're in possession of an antique! Put that thing in a museum.

The rule about the lie being "the area that would be covered by the disc in play" was only ever used in the 1982 rulebook. It was removed in 1986 and has never been used again.

These where the best rules. Step on your disc!! And if your disc is in a tree, your foot better be in that tree with it!!

Any hazard is casual if you’re brave enough.
