You Could do way worse then bears, in my area is the most Rattle Snake bites in the Country yet what is funny/dumb is that you have to go to either Rapid city or Sioux Falls to get that treated. I have been face to face twice with rattle snakes while playing disc golf, one was out at the Oahe Dam state park playing Powerhouse ally and the other was at a local persons Private course with homemade baskets of mostly rebar except the top metal band to the specs of the old Mach III and VI and the final hole an old Discatcher Sport, the 18 chain model.

Grizzlies are way more terrifying than rattlesnakes.
Rattlers have to be provoked to attack humans; not always the case with griz. Plus, a rattlesnake bite will hurt like the dickens and kill your skin cells. That seems terrible...until you compare it to a grizzly mauling, which is 10,000% worse. Grizzlies are seriously the most terrifying animal in the US.

My wife's uncle lost 2 sections of his right index finger to a brown recluse. If that happened to me, I'd have to change my grip, give up DG, or (shudder) throw lefty. I'd rather get mauled.

I stand corrected. There are fates worse than death, and learning to throw lefty is surely one of them!
