I am for sure penalized for driving limitations versus someone with 400' plus. I'd also be penalized versus a 350' guy who is equally as good with a putter in his hand as I am. I don't usually encounter this type of competition in my MA-40 division. Usually the guy I'm chasing drives 50' farther but wastes strokes within 150' where I'm better at playing cleanly, just like the 35-year-old guy with whom I was enjoying a casual round and wound up tying at a course with a good variety of distances on its holes.

That's thanks to a basket that I believe is fair as it is for almost all of the millions who play the game.

Sorry, everybody, I'll do my part to let this thing die now. I feel confident nobody is going to go around changing all the baskets over the coming decades to something between a Mach-3 and an Innova Mini catcher forcing the best who ever lived to only make 67% from a mere 25 feet. It's an absurd idea.

We toss our projectiles in the putting sequence through the air with our bare hands, like the Grand Prize Game on the Bozo show. Thankfully they're Discs instead of ping pong balls and there are baskets instead of buckets and there is wind and trees that can play a factor too, but you can't make the act of putting like it is in ball golf. Our sport does a fantastic job creating drama outside of 30 feet as it is. The growth proves it.
