I'm looking for suggestions for a potential trip from central WI to Colombia MO. I'd like to play Harmony Bends next summer. I have no dates lined up yet. I'm curious as to when HB's is most playable (least wet/flooded). This would be my main course to play. Now besides this I'm also curious what St. Louis has to offer disc golf wise. This would be a 7 and a half drive for me. KC MO is 8 and a half. Colombia MO looks to be midway between the 2. Probably staying in Des Moines or Cedar Rapids on my way back. Any help or suggestions there would be appreciated too. I'm just trying to get a head start on planning. I don't even have a preferred route. Probably 8 day trip by car. I'm open to ANY suggestions. Never been to MO.

It is well worth the trip to play Harmony Bends.
I flew into Peoria to spectate Worlds in August and saw that it was only 4 hours from Peoria to Columbia, so I added 2 days to my trip and rented a car after flying in to Peoria and drove to Columbia. Played Harmony Bends for 2 days. Great course. I was there in mid-August and conditions were great (though pretty hot and steamy.

If the course typically floods until June, it seems poor timing to have the 2020 Tim Selinske US Masters scheduled from May 28th to May 31st? Maybe it is a good thing I won't be able to make the Tim this year? |

June is the ultra conservative answer, which I give to a person planning a special multi-day trip. May is typically fine but Mother Nature has her own plan.

Yeah, Harmony is in kind of the middle of nowhere - right about halfway (so a couple hours) between KC and STL. Neither are really "on the way". STL probably a little closer, but I haven't played anything there.
But it is a really nice drive through central MO. My only suggestion is Wildcat Bluff in Urbana, IA when you are by Cedar Rapids. I actually haven't played it but I know a few who have that highly recommended it. I just didn't have time on my way back from Harmony. I will also suggest, if you have the time and like hiking, to check out Mark Twain National Forest. Elephant Rocks State Park is cool and smaller. Also lots of backpacking type trails out there. I did a couple day hike from Taum Sauk to Johnson's Shut Ins. It was pretty.

New Melle is a newer course in the StL area that has been getting some talk locally but that is about the extent of my knowledge. Wish I could help you a bit more. Message Golden Tuna on here for more info about StL and konza_kid for KC courses I'm sure there are others but those are 2 people I have run across here on the forums that are in those areas.
