Was in a C-Tier recently with a card with two friends and another guy. I was scorekeeping on the PDGA live app. After a particularly annoying par 4, one of my friends reports a 5.
I know darn good and well it was a 6, but he was already having a crap round and was in a horrible mood. What's the correct move here? Am I supposed to fight him, or just report an incorrect score? Sponsored Links

Correct him without actually fighting would be optimal. Being pissy isn't a license to cheat.

Yup, if you're lucky enough to play this game a lot of years you'll have something like this happen a number of times. Mostly it's an honest miscount. No one should mind being gently corrected on that.... especially a friend.

A good move in this situation is to have the player recap each throw with other players in your group helping remind player of throws but only if needed.

If two of you agree on his throws and he refuses, make a note of it, put down what he said and bring it to the TD later. The TD can assess a penalty for an incorrect scorecard.

Can't speak for you, but he doesn't fall in the friend category anymore. And that's the extent of my worrying about it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I've had this happen. On a hard par 3, the player said they took a 4....I said that I think it was a 5, let's go over the throws. We did it together....tee shot to the mando, second shot to ..... etc. Finally agreed it was a 5, but pouted for a few more holes. Mainly, I didn't say the player was wrong....I said that I thought it was different score and went over the shots with them.
I really believe that it is mainly people being focused on what they are doing and forget to count a stroke.

Wow. I have had the miscounted shots thing happen in my groups probably hundreds of times over the years (gets more frequent as the groups age) but never had a player refuse to acknowledge it after the shot by shot recount.
