Default Lucas' 2016 Bag

I've been playing 1.5 years and I have quite the collection of discs to choose from, mostly mailed to me from my uncle who introduced me to the sport. Thanks Jess!

Any who, I have mostly Innova discs with a few Discraft and one Prodigy and one DGA.

Distance Drivers: Star Destroyer - I use this for headwinds but I often throw it too high.
Blizzard Boss - Also for headwinds. It's suicide throwing uphill & headwind
Discraft Flick - For possible griplock conditions

"Normal" Drivers: Champion Mamba - Oh this thing is amazing for huge anhyzers to the pin
DGA First Flight - Good for slight turnovers and tunnels. Do not forehand
DX Archangel - Sun bathed gummy, devilish straight flight
Champion Valkyrie - Distance flat shots with turn at the end

Midranges: DX Shark
Prodigy M4

Putters: Just two Yeti Pro Aviars of the concave variety - Splush putt or upshots

Extra discs: DX Leopard
Star Thunderbird
Discraft Stalker
Champion Firebird

ATM, I'm looking for a distance driver without as much fade and dump

I'm looking to get another 3 Yeti Pro Aviars for practice. Man, I cannot get enough of those.

I'd appreciate any recommendations for drivers and mids, my two lacking deparments.

How far are you throwing these discs?

300' at best. I'm not a bomber yet, but doing my best to learn.

I'm looking for a mid with an overstable "dump", like a meathook lfet to a pin placement kinda shot.

I recently picked up a Big Z Drone that fits the exact description you gave. Very OS and the Big Z blend feels great in the hand. A Hornet is also a solid option, just slightly less stable than the Drone but still quite OS.

For the mid, you might try a Gator or a Zone. The Hornet will fade, but it's a smoother, more gliding fade.

For the driver, the Krait has a straight flight with a dump fade. I'm also looking forward to trying the Mystere to see how it does...

What plastic would you recommend for the Krait and Gator? I'm thinking either dx gator and gstar krait of champion of both.

If you're only throwing 300ft and using a Mamba and a Valkyrie are barely getting you to 300ft, a Krait is not going to help you at all, it's just going to be another higher speed meat hook.

Try a DX Teebird and a Pro or G* Leopard. Seasoned DX Teebirds fly really far!

DX isn't bad for the Gator I also think D Drones are nice, they're not as overstable as their premium plastic counter parts but very workable and they break in nice. A few others that might work; DD Verdict, Westside Bard and Discraft Wasp and Buzzz-OS

I'd recommend removing some of those higher speed discs from your bag. I have about the distance as you and I have found that anything faster then speed 9 does nothing for my distance. Maybe keep either the Boss or Destroyer for headwinds but even then I'd drop down to a Firebird, Champ Thunderbird or QOLF.

Also I'd recommend adding some fairway drivers (speed 6 or 7) like a Teebird or Gazelle and Leopard or Leopard3 combo.

As far as an overstable midrange, I'd recommend a Zone. It is the most underrated disc in disc golf. It is simply amazing.

BTW which mold is the first flight? I think that is just a stamp DGA puts on their first run of a given mold.

The thing about the Krait is not extra distance but that it will go straight and then dump fade instead of a long, glidey fade. It is NOT a meathook for me, and I throw to 300 ft. or so; my recommendation is from my own experiences. YMMV.

As to plastics, I thank Champion is what the Krait comes in. It also comes in Blizzard Champion for lighter weights.

My Gators are in Star plastic, but I'd recommend you get it in what plastic you personally like the best.
