Default Feldberg's style

How does he generate the distance that he does throwing that way? Are there any drills I could do to learn this style?
There is another thread in the Technique section that I think is titled 'Swedish Style' or something along those lines. Good explanation and videos included. Or as Prerube would say

DGR has some threads on throwing with leverage (like the swedish style) so I'd search over there.
So I found this video which has drives by feldberg and Astrom.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhQzVIX4cVs

I am having trouble seeing the similarities between the two. It appears that Astrom bends his elbow to a much greater extent than Feldberg. What are the similarities that I should be seeing that make watching Astrom drives helpful in learning a Feldberg style drive?

Also, I have read information on DGR about swedish style, but if I recall correctly it basically says something like "lever the disc" without going into much detail about the technique. I guess I just don't how to accomplish levering the disc. When ever I try a Feldbery style throw I feel like I am strong arming it.

Ahh, I think I found the thread, it's called Bent Elbow v. Swedish or Both (something like that). Lots of good info there.

Thanks.

The leverage of the disc is about accelerating the side of your disc that isn't in your hand faster than the side that is in your hand to create spin,

Anstrom shows this more easily, because feldberg started off with a straight reachback then combined the 2.his style would be almost impossible to emulate without being able to get just the basic swedish style to work first.

Honestly, I wouldn't change your throwing style anyway. There are a few people who throw swedish style here, like matrix2113, but they don't have any advantages I've seen over people of the same caliber with a standard reachback.

Yeah, you're probably right. I guess I am just frustrated with not being able to break 300' (the way I hear people talk on here, it seems like every able bodied male should be able to do it). I thought maybe another throwing style would be a better fit for me, and this one looked less complicated since it appears that there are less moving parts (joints bending and moving).

Thanks for all the responses.

If you're still below 300, I'd recommend the "Driving with Dan Beato" vid.

yeah, I have watched that a lot too. I have all the head knowledge, I just can't seem to translate it into physical results. I think what i am going to do is once the snow melts here I will film myself and post it on here (and probably DGR as well) and get some feedback from everyone. That will probably be the most helpful.

Thanks again for the responses.

Here is a good article to get you started on the bent arm technique.

Also lots of good answers in here about the Swedish style
