Personally, I find the speculation on here mildly interesting and funny.
"Because they can", I'll have to try to remember that one...….

Thank you for clarifying, slowing it down really helped this schmuck!

Yeah...

"Because we can" is a reason for a lot of shenanigans. I mean, we talked about pros getting married for a loooong time.

Side thought: The Roach is an amazing mold that I think doesn't get the attention it deserves just because of the name. Would be so smart to give it to Paul (assuming it's his new choice from the Aviar) & rename it. Of course it would also need a new plastic bland to like McPro.

Can you rename a disc just like that?

Someone please explain it to me, slowly, so I can figure out why anybody but Paul should be concerned about what company sponsors Paul.
Maybe it's not as big as effect as it looks like to me, but right now, Discraft's marketing team seems pretty genius with how this is playing out, slowly stringing us along with speculation.

Look at the disc threads. More Discraft molds are being discussed again than have been in a long time. And maybe it's just me, but just with all the talk, I'm reminded of a lot of the Discraft molds I used to throw and moved away from, and I'm thinking, I liked the Surge, Predator, Stalker, Glide, and Buzzz. I've lost all but my Stalkers over time, but maybe I should pick one of these up again. I probably won't, but it's tempting, and I'm sure there are others who are not so stingy with their disc purchases that will pull the trigger.

My response was half serious and half tongue in cheek. In other words, there really is no good reason for it.

I've never heard of it being done but I'm sure it's easy. Bet it's a simple form sent to the PDGA & a post on DC's social media. 'What was the Roach is now named the (insert any other name that would sell better).'

I don't know about that. I always heard the name is more important than the actual mold.

Not as important as the stamp!

For me as someone who uses a mixed bag, I could care less what each pro throws, but I was intrigued from a business perspective because Paul & Innova seemingly had a great on/off the course relationship and I honestly thought he would become a lifelong business partner with the company. The fact that he has signed on with someone new approaching 30 in a couple of years makes me guess there was a substantial sign on bonus he could not refuse. And regardless what everyone thinks..there is still relatively little money in this sport, Paul is a business man with an eye on the future, he wants to build his "field of dreams "course, perhaps this is the ticket to make that happen. Good for him....
