You can give it a few degrees hyzer or anny by accident and it doesn't matter, it just pushes straight with a slight tilt to the wing. You have to really accent the hyzer/anny angle to get it to sweep, but if you do it will hold that line.

Eventually one of my Anodes became a good turnover thrower, but that took years as well as a surprise gouge...another one in my bag that has the same amount of use is still straight. Both have an ace on them. Plus I can pair with an Ion for almost the same feel in hand, same distance, but more HSS and LSS like a fresh Wizard. The Ion will hold and add to hyzer angles, whereas the Anode wants to push forward.

Adding to the MVP love: though they are mids, the Axis is a very good dead-straight disc. The Tangent is a bit more understable, but also goes very straight when not thrown with too much power or is hyzerflipped.

If we are going the mid route.....nothing goes straighter than an alias

We're not going the mid route.

I only went the mid route for the MVP discs because I find MVP mids like the Axis and Tangent because I found them to be fast-putter/slow-mid like, as opposed to many mids that are more glidey and faster. I posted before that when I take an all-MVP/Axiom bag to the course, I use their mids where I would throw Innova/Trilogy putt/approach discs.

Beat to crap and warped R-Pro Rhyno, though that's more for flip up and turn shots, as a Nova gets most of my straight stuff. I have a Cryztal Focus that I'm thinking will take the Nova shots though, but time will tell.

Never thrown a Tangent.

Axis is a FAST mid. Buzzz is a fast mid. They're relatively interchangeable and the differences in design and feel (aside from dat gyro) are negligible. The capability of being able to power down an Axis is irrelevant. The Squall is also 1.3 rim width and is considered a tweener, the Kaxe is 1.5 and is wrongfully called a mid from time to time, the Truth is 1.5, etc etc. How is a 1.5 Truth less like a 1.6 Leopard and more like a 1.2 Stingray? The Spider is also 1.3 but is a slower mid by design (more narrow diameter helps this compared to the wide Buzzz and Axis, as well as wing shape and bead).

All this "anything that isn't a Warship or Truth is slow" is nonsense.

NOW. Back to hyzerflipping putters! Magnet or Clutch (Magnet clone) have been doing this for me for over a decade! But really anything can work so find something that feels comfortable, isn't too beefy, and break it in. Or find one that's comfortable and understable off the shelf and put it in your bag (recommend the break in personally).

It's not necessarily the same shot. Sometimes it might be, but other times not.

Your stance or footing might necessitate a hyzer release.
You might have a gap to hit early that using hyzer makes it easier to hit.
You might be more comfortable with a hyzer release than flat.
The amount of power needed can vary, too.

These are just a few ideas that I came up with in two minutes and I'm sure that there are more. Having both options in your arsenal should prove useful.

Beat Classic Judge. Predictably wonderful turnover disc in the woods.
