Good info. Ive been having tennis elbow issues and it really didnt start until i started throwing palm up. Hind sight, palm up is creating torque in places it doesnt need to be. Elbow, bicep, shoulder.
Palm vertical is a more natural arm position. I think I will try that grip next.

Thanks!

I have the same problem a lot. Mostly when I'm trying to throw something max distance, instead of a distance I'm comfortable with. Honestly, I think it's just a strength issue. There's a lot less controlling the disc forehand vs backhand.

Basic forehand technique is nearly identical to hitting a flat forehand in tennis. The moment of where one would hit a ball is where you activate the wrist, in disc golf as opposed to having a passive wrist. Otherwise, there really is no difference in body mechanics.

Following up with this, I used to only be able to play 9 holes before my elbow started to hurt. I've been throwing palm forward and no longer have tennis elbow issues. Thanks for the info all

I hate forehand, I'll never be a forehand player, I hate forehand.

I'm trying to get myself to be able to throw at least a utilitarian forehand shot, and after playing 4-5 rounds and doing field work with nothing but forehand and NOT massively stable discs, I actually have a feel for it. It took a lot of cut rollers, sweeping hyzers, nose up, nose down, f**k this, mother f**ker, god damnits to get to the point where I can actually say I'm comfortable, well 75% of the time, with a 250 foot forehand shot. But holy hell has it shaved strokes off my score. One thing I did was stop reaching back, and instead reach up. There was a Nate Sexton video out there where he addressed reach back and how reaching straight back didn't produce much snap and speed, but if you reached up it enabled more drive with the disc. That and Bradley Williams' deliberate follow through from his belly button out made a huge difference for me.

Another big deal for me was to stop trying to throw the disc far and work on being smooth, like backhand drives. Muscles don't throw the disc far, technique throws the disc far.

Is there a video of bradley Williams' deliberate follow through from his belly button out?

I'm unfamiliar with this magic you speak of.
