Default My Bag, Please help me out.

Ok so I am newish to the game. Havent quite played a year yet, but in that not quite a year I have played many many rounds. I dont have the biggest of arms and prob max out around 300 on a good day, but lets call it what it is. Usually end up between 200-300ft.

Ok so in my bag right now:

Drivers:

168 Dx Eagle - basically new
172 dx Eagle - all beat to **** compliments of every tree i see
170 Z Stalker - newish

Mid:

175 dx roc - idk how I feel about this
170 z buzzz - this disc is money for me, prob thrown close to the farthest too
168 dx rhyno - added today because idk it felt good in my hand. I know its not a mid but tryin it out for approaches too close for buzzz or roc

Putter

170 R-pro Aviar - this putter just seems to stick to the chains like a....well it does me well.

Other discs I have:

170ish beat destroyer - found on course used to hammer it, but not so much anymore

139 Blizzard Champ Destroyer - bought cause it would be "easy" to throw idk maybe im just terrible

170ish Dx Gazelle - found on course. Oldest disc I own I think. Labeled as very long driver

180 dx shark - first disc I ever bought. Idk what it is, I cannot throw this at all

??? Champ X-out sidewinder - also found, Idk anything about it really, except I use it as a loaner

Any advice on overlap? Holes that need filling? Possible switching up of what I carry? Thanks a million in advance.

For now, id just go aviar, buzzz and your favorite driver.

Learn to throw your putter long and straight (200')

For now, just keep it simple. Id audition the eagles, stalker and gazelle for your driver spot

I'd stick with your line up right now, only adding the Gazelle. The Gazelle will be easier to turn than the Eagle or Stalker. Otherwise, I wouldn't add anything till you get a little better with your form and start hitting closer to 300-350' consistantly. Also try learning to throw pure hyzer lines, straight shots, and anhyzers. This will help you to find a good technique with your throws. Good luck, you're heading in the right direction.

Swap the Gazelle for the Stalker. Other than that, it is a great bag for a newish player, imo.

FWIW, I have a max distance around 300' (usually 260-280'), and I threw my new 136g Blizz Destroyer on a long tailwind hyzer and easliy parked a 340' hole yesterday. However, there was not much else I could do with it all day. Stick to the Eagles and Gazelle, and even if your distance never improves, your game will be more accurate due to throwing more controllable discs.

Good luck.

I don't mean to be rude, but are you sure what you're throwing is a Gazelle? I have one and it flies slightly overstable, and I don't think I could turn it if I tried my damndest.

OP: Your best bet for a turning disc at your level is your beat-in Eagle. Hang onto the Buzzz and the Roc, because you can make different lines with each. Your Aviar is good, but if you want a putter to learn how to drive with, I'd say Wizard/Ion/Dart.

Put away your Destroyers. I know it might not be what you want to hear, but the truth is that if you're throwing discs that have a faster speed requirement than what you can produce, it actually hurts your distance.

I do throw Gazelles. The Champ Glows will stay slightly overstable for a very long time, that's why I have them in the bag, but a DX Gazelle should break in very quickly, within 10-15 rounds, and if its a found disc that is as old as the OP says it is should be very broken it. As for turning the disc a Stalker should be much easier to turn than a Eagle, unless it's a broken in Eagle-L, but I don't believe they made those in DX plastic.

I just finally (after 4 years) decided to go out in a field and learn to throw my putter 200+ ft. Now I basically dont need half my bag. I can drive close, then use my wizard for approach and putt. I keep the buzz nearby just in case.

I think all new players should carry a leopard! Its a great disc for all levels.

Thanks a million gents. Yeah distance wise, I cant hit 200 consistently with my putter, but that aviar i can pretty consistently get to 140-160ish. I personally think my two longest throws ever were with my buzzz somewhere in the 300-350 range. I took all my putters out and just threw the buzzz and the putter for many rounds and after the two big throws was hoping I was ready to move on to putters lol. I guess I should wait till i can do it consistently **sheepish grin**
