I do that on a piece of 150 grit sandpaper. The flash is gone and it feels as if the disc is new... as it should have been made.

so why does lat 64 glide so much...plastic? Inverted Rim? Swedish Meatballs?

Oh I don't know the answer(s) but I am sure it is a combination of things that people who understand aerodynamics much better than me could explain.
