My glo Z with the big dome does the same kinda thing when thrown on a higher hyzerflip. It almost looks like an optical illusion like spin dyed discs rotating. Definitely gives it a nice soft finish however with the slight nose up.

So.... I went back and grabbed that 171 yellow ESP Comet.. Board flat and semi stiff.. It's nice to try a little strange but I can't let this one slip by either.. Haha. I need to play them side to side to be fair you know, form an informed opinion about which one I should have bought.

Since I'm post whoring my way to Ace member...

Flatties have their uses. Good luck, let us know!

Well the battle of the Comets rages on in my back yard... been trying the 169ish pop top fly dye Z vs 171 ESP flat top...

It's interesting picking up 2 Comets with no love on them yet... I ran them both against my 174 Z glow (flippy almost, but straight) last night over 12 holes. (Bunch of 160'-180').

With a little open space 15-20' tunnel the fly dye always hit the gap with a tight S. Solid HSS in a light weight and dependable fade, easy to cheat with a touch of anhyzer. It did well in the light wind and fought it the best. It had trouble with the long tunnels but when it breaks in I think it will hold the flight a long time.

ESP Comet held any line, a little wrist roll anny and it flew straight for 130' before breaking into a finishing anhyzer. Thrown flat it is a fiend out of the box! A little more LSS then my favourite glow Z but very close. I played it today in doubles did well maybe a touch more HSS than I thought.. Tied for first..got second. The ESP's the definite favourite but I knew that.. Thing is in six months it's going to assume a different role.. But if I lost my prime Comet I know I have a replacement.

Battle of the Comets round 2... flye dye hit an ace on first shot first hole at 170'. It needs a bit of space to do a tight S (10-15') but powered up it mellows out well. I missed a few gaps either overcompensation for the stability or underpowered it. Also had a tremendous 250'ish drive with it dead straight and low fade. A little nose down and it cruises, a turn shows up immediately and half way through it sort of auto corrects to straight.

The yellow ESP is more of a single turn disc once its locked on the line it's holding it. A little too stable still to throw it totally flat or softly... surprising how a little anhyzer shows up late in flight like 75 percent through..

The ESP held a steady middle ground and conservatively played the round.. Fly dye made the most spectacular shots and was not meant to be thrown softly.. Hole for hole in match play fly dye wins by an ace, ESP had a better score..

Aces are flukey.
I’d go with the one that consistently gives you lower scores... unless you ace pot is getting really big lol

2019 MJ tour series comets are up today on Discraft.com.

Ended up ordering two from another online retailer so I could see the exact one I was ordering.

How they flying? I have XFLX Buzz which I really like for straight shots that can end with little fade to left (RHBH) when there's space. I was thinking about adding comet to my bag for dead straight shots/hyzer flips that finish straight/little right and those MJ ones seem to be only available atm.

EDIT: Just noticed you posted today. Tell when you get them!

It's not flukey when it's a Comet!

I got some more time with my Ledgestone Z Sparkle Comet and I have to say, I'm pretty impressed. Normally I don't click well with premium plastic mids- I always prefer the grip on baseline. But this disc just flies so nicely.

With a full power hyzer rip it will slowly flip up to flat and once it gets there, it locks into a dead straight flat flight. It's kind of strange to watch. You expect it to keep turning right, but it just coasts forward. Still finishes left pretty hard for a Comet.

The only caveat is that this disc needs a little bit of height to really work. I'm not throwing it on low tunnel shots. For those I still prefer a beat, flat-ish Roc or Ghost.
