Meteor is more like a Icon Gauge, but the Pinnacle Gauge is a bit more HSS, Holds lines straight longer and a touch less glide. I bag 1 pinnacle gauge for very tight narrow drives where i need something that can lock into a dead rope (minimal turn/fade) with a decent amount of distance, say 275'. That's all i really use it for though, my Ghosts cover every other shot, i just have trouble throwing them dead straight like a gauge can. Although the gauge will fly beautiful and accurate annys and loong holding hyzers its a great disc overall.

I think the Gauge should be in every beginners bag and even the most seasoned pro would find this disc necessary to have.

The first time I held a Gauge, I instantly thought Meteor as well. They are pretty close, but the Gauge has slightly less LSS in Icon compared to ESP and Pinnacle has slightly more LSS compared to the pink LE Z.

i think its more so the HSS thats the difference between them, i cannot rip a fresh icon on a rope like i can a pinnacle, and that tells me the HSS is having a bigger effect. The LSS is also a touch more in pinn though just overall a bit more OS..

My comments about LSS were in regards to their Meteor counterpart, not the Gauge plastics.

I agree the Pinnacle has more HSS and LSS than the Icon. It has also proven to be more durable as I've started seeing a change in the Icon's flight without any change to the Pinnacle with more throws.

Thanks guys, this is some good info. How's a pinnacle handle wind? I don't really live in a windy area, but it's nice to know.

I haven't thrown it in strong enough winds to be able to answer that. I throw with some extra hyzer angle, but it's predictable enough for me. It's a neutral mid that's no Rhyno in terms of HSS.

I will say that I also noticed less glide from the Pinnacles compared to the Icons. I like that though because it's a little easier for me to range than the Icon.

I Don't throw my gauges in the wind, its not the kind of mold that would be good in wind unless you keep it at the right angle depending on wind direction.
