Default Battle royale: Vulcan vs. Destiny

Did a bit of a distance competition today with a bunch of different fast drivers. Stuff like a Trespass, Giant, Katana, Boss, Sword, Destiny, Nuke SS and a Vulcan.

The Vulcan and Destiny ended up being the longest of the bunch. Great speed and glide on both. The Vulcan was a tad more stable than the Destiny. Both went about the same distance on numerous throws, 450'ish.

Nuke SS was 3rd place. Little wild, but tons of distance.

VERY impressed with the Destiny. Hadn't thrown one before. Very similar to a King, but maybe a hair more stable. Also very impressed that the Vulcan was going toe to toe with it.

What plastic were the Destiny and Vulcan?

I like throwing star vulcans and I have a few champs that I don't bag anymore because they were too stable. Not bad discs, just I already had that spot in my bag filled by stable wraiths.
Also, any dome on the vulcans? I have a first run that's pretty flat throughout the flight plate and it was a lot flippier than my others which all have some dome to them.

I didn't understand how you can get 450' on either of those...then I read that you live at elevation. That makes more sense I guess.

I agree Vulcan and Destiny are in the same category, with the star Vulcan a little more stable and the Destiny feeling better in the hand (deeper rim, good plastic). But at sea level I can't trust them much as they near ~400', although I have got a few nice hyzer flips from a Vulcan 425' or so when angles were correct. I find mellow Destroyers go at least as far at that power range, at sea level.

I'd like to throw at high altitude sometime to see the difference it makes.

Yeah, elevation definitely makes a big difference. I'm typically playing at 3,000' minimum elevation (unless out of state) and I play a good number of courses/tournaments at around 6,000'. When I was in Wisconsin over Memorial Day my vulcan was a flippy mess.

I've thrown both star & gstar vulcans (prefer gstar). I have a star Vulcan I would trade for a Destiny if someone is interested

What Kings are you comparing the Destiny to? I would think Kings would be a good bit more stable than the Destiny but newer Kings I've thrown are definitely a lot less high speed stable than my older ones that live in rivers and blackberry fortresses now.

I love the Destiny for long turnovers and encumbered run up distance drives. Very easy for me to get a good flight out of this disc.

Also playing at sea level.
