Glide is inversely related to stability (with some exceptions like the Groove). The more glide, the less stable, the less stable, the less predictable. So, if you need excessive glide to throw 400'+ then you will never do it "consistently" because pushing such a disc to its limits will, by definition, be unpredictable.

People misunderstand disc speed. This is not how fast a disc can go. This is how fast you must throw the disc for the other 3 numeric ratings to actually happen. So, if you throw around 10-11, then any disc faster than 11 is going to be more stable in your hands than what's printed on the flight plate. Meaning, no matter how much glide it has, you won't get the glide from it until you can throw 12 or 13 or whatever speed the disc is.

If you can genuinely throw speed 11 consistently and control your shots and your game is suffering because you're not getting "enough distance", something else is the problem. Where are you playing you need to throw 400'+ reliably to enjoy the game?
Don’t forget about shot shape. It takes more power to throw a hyzer 385’ than it does to throw a straight line the same distance.
