Summer hasn't even started yet. No, she is not playing good right now, but to say the year is lost is quite a stretch.

I said IF she looses Worlds the year will be lost.

Even if she winns every single tournament for the rest of the year...but looses Worlds, i don´t think she will see 2021 as a win

I'm just curious, because you speak like someone with insider information. Have you actually spoken to Paige Pierce about her goals for this year and what she would consider to be a success this year, or are you just assuming based on your understanding?

I agree it is likely her goal to win all her tournaments this year, but past that I make no assumptions.

Hi there! I'm gonna make some assumptions!

I'm going to assume that Paige Pierce cares about Worlds more than any other event. I'm going to assume that Paige Pierce would be extremely dissatisfied with this season, even if she won everything else, if she didn't win Worlds. She has 5 Worlds under her belt, tying her with Elaine King and Juliana Korver for the tops all time in FPO. I'm sure Paige believes fully that she'll be strong enough to win more World Titles after this year, but she's also probably aware of the fact that she's 30 and in a field bursting with young talent. Every year she doesn't win #6 weighs more heavily.

That said - I don't think she'd call the season a failure if she won a lot and didn't win Worlds. Like everyone else - she's going to be aware that Worlds isn't what it once was. Paige is going to be aware of the fact that over 4 rounds anyone can win, especially with said young talent out there. She knows that winning Worlds isn't the same sort of bellwether for best-golfer-of-the-season that it was when it was an 8+ round sample size back in the day. She'd be pretty irked by it, and it might drive her off-season - but Worlds is a 4 round event, and that leaves a room for randomness that didn't used to exist.

I dont know Paige, but to assume thats she´s not happy being 5th, 11th, 5th and 2nd in her last tournaments is a safe bet.

The World title is everything in Discgolf...maybe to much so . . .and Paige probably more than anything wants that 6th title.
But Worlds is geting close and Paige seems WAY of her game, she´s not even close to winning at the moment.

Worlds means less now than it ever has due to the reduced format. Personally I would still take Pierce vs the field.

Until she gets to 6x, without a doubt yes. Especially since hitting 1000 rated has taken a back seat for now.

The inverse seems more easy to digest: If she (or anyone) wins just Worlds, it was a good season.
