I just want to say...

Time after time today I chose the Aviar3 off the tee, and it was amazing every single drive! 172 DX that is slightly beat in, flies sooooo straight off the tee with some power. 200-275 was dialed in. Played a short course (actually the oldest in NC) and it was a great opportunity to test this disc over and over. I did push it out to 290 on one hole, held straight with minimal fade. It releases clean at higher power and does not turn over. Feels like a Pure in the hand but is slightly more OS. The overall fade is very little but it doesn't really flip. I expect this is due to the level wear the disc is in. I hope to get a star or pro (if it's released). This disc has earned a spot in the bag.

Just received my DX and its crazy how much more shallow it feels compared to my star. Feels amazing.

This was true of the Colts for me as well. XT and DX feel (and are) very shallow, but Star/GStar feel more medium-deep. I think it's the increased shrinkage of the baseline plastic. Now I feel like a need a DX Aviar3. I like the Star I have, but not as much as my Pigs and there's a little too much overlap there to bag it. A DX Aviar3 might both feel better and have more of a spot in the bag.

Loving my DX so far. Picked it up last weekend and it is flying really well as a compliment to my normal DX Aviars. Only complaint is that I am having a little trouble ranging it. A small difference in spin seems to have a huge impact on glide, but I feel like I will get used to it.

That's interesting, I never noticed that before. Good catch!

So I have made a big change to the putter section of the bag; Av3s are taking over for now:
One 150g DX Polecat (of course)
Three 175g DX Av3s... two for main putting duties and one for driving
One Star Av3 for driving... hopefully soon replaced with Champ Av3
One 175g Champ Rhyno for OS putter needs

The beat DX Av3 is picking up decent glide so I don't think I need the PandAs. And the low profile, cruising height, and power requirement of the Av3s match the Rhyno so it feels more natural to switch between them.

My Star Aviar3, while flat, feels like it has "puffy" shoulders.

The DX doesn't feel that way.

I got to throw a Star Aviar3 a few times on Wednesday. I liked it but I still prefer an S-Line P2.

That was what I thought when I compared my Star Colt to my DX Colt.

I haven't tried a DX Aviar3 yet, but after this comparison, I think I might...

I've been throwing a DX Aviar3 for a few weeks. It feels great and is close to taking over for the Axiom Envy I've been using for approach shots. The Aviar3 has a little less glide making it feel a little more OS than the Envy. The DX plastic feels better than I remember too.
