Default Mantis opinions please!

I recently picked up a 165g Mantis in X plastic. I've only taken it on the course once and was suprised as to how easily it turned over. I'm currently working on dialing this one in and am open to thoughts and opinions. Thanks guys!

I've never thrown the x plastic version, but in elite Z the mantis still has a good amount of turn in its flight. It's a pretty good hyzerflip fairway... You can shape a variety of lines with one (surprisingly a great disc for tomahawks and thumbers too). I used a mantis as my beginner driver last year and absolutely loved it. This year it's no longer in the bag, but I still think it's a solid under stable fairway

I have a couple Mantis discs. The max weight Z disc is pretty straight with a bit of fade at 320' power. My 168g Big Z I will hyzer-flip to get the same flight (but further). Thinking about an X Mantis as a turnover disc.

Try looking here:

Good info there, it will tell you about the TWO versions of that disc!

Ace Race Proto= Massive Beef!

Retooled Production version= Understable.

I was kind of thinking the same sense mine seems to love to turn over. Havent dialed in a flip yet. We'll see.

Thank you for this^^

And woah! Im for sure diggin the mantis once i got its flip down! This X-Mantis is just US enough to flip up solid everytime and seems like its got some extra glide. So far really dependable doing so in cross winds. Thanks guys!

This disc is my favorite us fairway ever! Only us driver of any kind that I use. I've gone through heaps of big Zs since they were released. It's money! One of my main woods discs. Hyzer flip machine, predictable, controllable, workable, flies fast and far, incredible glide, super comfortable, holds turnovers, max distance rollers. I also lucked into a relatively stable one that fits between my normal mantis and my undertaker so I carry two. It's the best! Speed 8 comet!

I've only thrown the AR version but I can confirm that they were not flippy...although at ace race distances I never really had a chance to crank on one.

I've got a 167g~ish pink TI AR mantis that I never throw. PM me if you're interested.
