I didn't do as well as I should have. Nerves were definitely a thing. I hit a lot of the tee shots on the tunnel holes though knowing if you don't youre in big trouble. I made decent putts. Overall just needed to focus more and not take stupid mistakes and allow them to add up. I am happy with most of my play though. I met Kevin Jones, saw Matt Bell. It was a great experience. Now I just want to go play more and get better.

in 94' i was playing a new course (Two Rivers) in Nashville having just moved to the area. a guy walked up from nowhere (which scared the crap out of me because we were in an open area and i didn't see or hear him approaching) and asked if he could join me for the round. he had 2 drivers and 2 putters. i teed first on the next hole with my proto Aero about 200' and he proceeded to throw the most amazing drive i ever witnessed. lefty with a 150 cyclone and ran the basket at over 400 ft. turns out it was Bob Vanderboss and i got a lesson on what could be done with modern discs on an open course! dude made every putt withing 50' and drew metal on almost every upshot. it was also the first time i had ever witnessed a 360 drive.

of course Bob won the Masters division at Worlds next year but that demonstration really opened my eyes to the exploding disc golf scene and solidified my passion for disc sports.
Was he the guy who dyed all his discs purple?

i do believe i remember him dyeing discs about that time (95' or so). there were several of us making some really ugly dyes in the early days.

i don't know if it is available anymore (VHS) but his caddy filmed every shot after the first day at 95 worlds. he was a complete beast at the time and the most aggressive player i have ever seen. his favorite tip to players was "shoot every shot for a point about 15' behind the basket". that's just the way he played.

I played a glow round and drank beers with Simon for episode 8 of his vlog which was really cool! Dude is good. I also got to be on Eric Oakley’s card once too, both at the same private course.

That's awesome, so far I haven't heard many tales of Pros being jackasses... there's obviously some but I wonder if there is a lower percentage of jerks at higher levels in our sport?

Pretty sure none of the "jackasses" would offer clinics. Although the people that accompany said pros leave a little to be desired.

A few more details into my previous post..........Someone's BF was a rude, obnoxious "person" before, during and after the clinic.

This was a previous pro clinic BTW, not JohnE
