Default Max distance disc to break 400' with control.

I just can't seem to find that magical hyzerflip to max distance disc.
Today I throw the Swirly CD3 since it goes as far (375') as I can get the Discs consistently but with more control than the challengers.

I have compared it to the Frenzy DD2 (more beefy)
DD3 (even more so)
Swirly S-DD (they're too stable to hyzerflip for me but bombs in a headwind)
Glow DDx (seems to be the best bet but doesn't really go much further fresh).

My current theory is that the CD3 is an amazing disc and that I should practice technique instead of looking for new discs but I wanted to ask you all for advices.

Maybe my only option for easy 400' is US speed 13s? I just feel that since I get as far with a speed 11 as I do with the speed 12's I've tried, speed 13 is not the way to go.
How does the S-DD compare once beaten in? Got a domey shield stamped penned beauty in one of my mystery boxes but haven't dared to throw it.

S-dd is going to be beefy and have less glide than a wraith. You could try the wraith, great bomber disc

How far are you throwing, max distance? I doubt there's an easy disc answer. The more hyzer flip distance potential, the harder it is to make sure you hit an angle and line with it. The faster and flippier disc you use, the less margin for error you'll have on a golf shot.

I'd say if you're throwing 450'+ in an open field (not necessarily max distance flex lines) then hitting 400' on the course with accuracy is probably realistic. The consistency part is going to come from throwing a slightly more stable disc, in my opinion. I don't see it often, but I usually see people hyzer flipping long distance shots with discs like cranks, shrykes, and ballistas.

If your throwing a CD3 375 and want more distance on the same lines try a Sword from west side.

Otherwise try to find a lighter flat CD3, those are less stable and easier to throw far. I’m in the same range as you and I’ve put a 167 CD3 out to 400 on a low rope a few times with a good hit.

I alternate beat PDs and STDs for distance. TDs are understable, but not super flippy. So at my 375' max, they hyzerflip nicely and ride that straight line with loads of glide. PDs are my line drivers with a good, strong finish.

Wraith is another great option with a bit more finish than a TD, but similar high speed flight patterns. I love a beat up Wraith for control lines in the woods, but typically just keep my TDs since they won't have as much fade/skip in the end.

In my younger days and before my back surgery, I would use Prodigy D2s/D3s. With a bit over 400' of power, a D3 would flip up and fly beauuuuuuitfully, but these days, they fly closer to my PD and the wing is so much wider I just shy away from them.

Maybe you just throw 375. You'll probably have more success tweaking your technique and practicing rather than finding a magic disc that adds 25 feet to your throw without you doing anything differently.

Yeah it doesn't matter what disc I throw specifically, as long as it has something like a -1/2 shape to it. It can be speed 11/12/13, they will land in a group and often the 13 is maybe 10 feet farther but sometimes the 11 is farthest. Basically if you're throwing 375' with fast discs that give you a good flight shape for your arm, then more velocity will get you 400' not new plastic.

Also in this range you might be better off with something that is on the slower end of high speed but with more glide...like someone suggested a Sword earlier. Something like Sword/Trespass/Tern will go far and feel like you have the ability to throw it as far as you physically can, but also that you have more than enough power to be able to back off by 20% on it and still get long controlled shots.

Edit: I've never thrown a CD3 which is what you're using but the numbers seem to be exactly what I was saying...slightly slower at 11 and has that -1/2 shape.

Star or G* Shryke is probably the easiest way to turn 375' into 400'. They're flippy, but not uncontrollably so. Lots of glide and big S curve flights. Nothing Discmania makes will fly like a Shryke.

2nd option would be a mid weight star Tern. Those things are unbelievable bombers for speed 12 discs. They can be erratic, but will absolutely provide the 400' you seek.

You could also try a domey gold line Ballista. Same general flight as a Shryke, but a speed faster.
