I lost ESP zone which has been in my bag for years, and I got a recon mortar 1.2 to give it a try. It has very zone-like feeling in my hand. Beads-less, flat top but a little thicker than zone which fits better in my hand. Going to test it tomorrow and hoping it can replace zone.

My mortar is complimenting my stable shark and my bergs very nicely. I feel like they handle the wind better than a beaded gator. The harp/zone hold straight longer (maybe not the old puddle top esps, they didnt hold straight long) and overlap the berg more. The mortar is easy to throw further without crowding the powered down driver shots that I have been throwing for a long time.
