For reference I can throw 425 or so. Turning my Sheriffs way too much lately.

What type(s) do you suggest?
Embossed star destroyer is the ticket. Little turn and hearty fade if you're looking for a good stable-overstable driver, although I love sheriffs out to 450 or so.

What would be a slightly slower Destroyer?

Can anyone speak to current run Wraiths? I haven't thrown one for probably 3-4 years, but back when I owned a few (both Star and champ), they were significantly more flippy than a Destroyer, even the Destroyers back then which weren't McBeth meat hooks. Are current run Wraiths overall more stable or do you just have to pick through them to find more stable ones? I mean, you have to pick through Star Destroyers to some extent too, but overall it seems like Star Destroyers tend to swing back and forth between about -1.5, 3 and 0, 4 and the current run is often fairly consistent within itself. Maybe Wraiths do that too though.

Interested in this too. I stumbled upon a PFN Star Wraith that just bombs for me. I would like something with a little less turn, but I have no idea what I'm getting into with newer Star Wraiths.

The newer Wraiths I have are nice, but not as overstable as Destroyers. They don't turn too much, but none of the Wraiths I've thrown have quite as much fade as a new Destroyer (which is why I like the Wraith). You might want to see if you can find a Teerex if you're looking for a slower overstable Destroyer.

I threw a new star wraith at 170 grams and it only turned a little bit with a pretty commanding fade. After some good seasoning it's an awesome -1/2 but initially it was -.5/3 at 400 or so. Buddy of mine who bombs FHs prefers it as his distance disc (450+ feet...) and it holds up pretty darn well. I threw it the other day and hit 420 with it after a couple dial-in throws. Solid mold and the stars are still fairly OS when new

A more OS Wraith is a Discmania DD.

Destroyers are great and it's super cool to throw what the pros are throwing, but most players would be better served by something like a wraith.
You could say this about the majority of high speed drivers..

No need to knock the Destoryer only. It comes in other molds besides beefy Star.
