People have been throwing objects at stuff just as long. Rocks at animals >> discs at baskets... same thing, it's just evolved.

I think kevdiv was criticizing Casey not me. My last post before that in this thread was from last year.

He was. Casey 1988 missed the point of your post that he quoted and responded to, but we have probably all done that at some time or another.

Disc golf clearly did not exist at least before jorts. And a frisbee is pretty different from a rock.

amoeba >> people
rocks >> discs
loin cloth >> jorts (although I might have that last one backwards)

... same thing at different points in time.

Neanderthals had their flippy rocks, beefy rocks, etc.
Granite had good durability but no glide.
Sandstone was readily available, but beat in too fast.

Sure there were differences from one to another, but ultimately, it always comes down to the person throwing it.

Archaeologists have uncovered evidence of a limestone Climo's 756th great grandfather used to win 7 Wild Boar Hunting Championships over a 12 year span.

I'm not sure if there's any evidence of discus golf but it's a possibility. Golf certainly had a precursor to it called Chiuwan in ancient China, way before the Scots invented it.
