Default event insurance question

Hey guys I need some help quick. I am running a trilogy challenge june 11 and the park I'm running it in requires me to purchase a single event insurance which I have done on 2 other occasions in the past. Both times was from a group called directeventinsurance.com They either no longer exist or I just can't find them. My price was right around $80 on each occasion. Since I can't find them I have searched the internet for others, finding nothing less than $280! I cannot pay that out of my own pocket so my question is this. Do any of you have any experience with single event insurance and what have you used?

Does PDGA sanctioning count?

I think the pdga only provides insurance for sanctioned events and I'm not going to sanction a trilogy challenge with it being 9 days away.

$80 was a bargain. I'm an insurance agent and, though I don't handle them myself, I haven't seen a stand-alone event policy for less than $300.

Probably too late now, but it would be interesting to see if the PDGA would sanction a Trilogy Challenge-type event as an XC-tier. If they would, the insurance alone might be worth the cost.

David I thought about this as well. The only problem is I would imagine that non pdga members would have to pay $10 on top of the $30 trilogy packs? With only 9 days left I dont want to piss 75 people off telling them they have to pay $10 more.

I have found a deal for $208 which I'll probably take from eventhelper.com. It also says I can pick up to 52 dates for the same coverage? Does that mean that it's 208 for each date or 208 total for up to 52 dates? I have other tournaments coming this year so that is good if it covers them all for just 208. I think I may put out a donation can to recoup some of my out of pocket expenses too.

$200 or so is the best I've found in the past year for the level of coverage most public agencies are looking for.

So you have 10 days and have yet to insure your event? WOW...

a pdga sanctioned trilogy challenge? not gonna happen, doesn't need to happen. IE. birdie bash

Have you thought about finding a loophole around the insurance? there is always loophole, or some creative wording.

Hopefully you dont have to bite the bullet and lose money, good luck.
