Default Shimmer Star Plastic

Who has thrown Shimmer Star discs? Are they more or less stable than new star plastic? Do they beat in Faster than normal star? Just curious if they are worth checking out or of they are just basically the same as Star plastic??

I have a shimmer vroc3, great feel and so far it seems indestructible. It’s soent a few month in my bag with little to no visible signs of wear or changes to flight characteristics.

The Shimmer Star Teebird I have is megabeef. I've never thrown it enough to beat it in so I have no idea how it wears and the flight changes.

The only disc I have in Shimmer Star is a CFR Mystere, and it svcks. The plastic doesn't feel very good (too close to GStar for my liking), and the disc flew like lukewarm garbage.

Lest you say it's the archer and not the arrow, my regular Star Mysteres fly very well for me.

So yes, it's more HSS than regular Star (all else being equal, such as PLH), and I avoid Shimmer Star plastic. YMMV

I just received my KJ Teebirds today, plan to toss one this weekend against a 12x and an AJ.

You are saying a plastic sucks based on a sample of one disc. C’mon man!

Yes, because that sample was plenty enough to see how bad Shimmer Star is. I might add that I believe Shimmer Star is what caused the Mystere to not catch on while it was a CFR disc.

If others like it, have at it. You'll have no competition from me getting a Shimmer Star disc.

How can you justify this opinion... mindboggling the mental gymnastics required to think one is a sufficient sample size for anything. I’m not saying you should like shimmer, but don’t insult people’s intelligence here and insinuate that a whole plastic is worthless because one individual disc wasn’t to your liking.

I have a Shimmer Star Destroyer that I like a lot. It’s similar to an early McBeth Destroyer but prettier. Unfortunately mine is like a goldish green so I don’t throw it a ton.
