Pierce's round was extremely good. Not to take anything away from that, but "-14" may be overstating how good it was. Par was set really high - about where par for Recreational players should be. Par of 55 would have been more suited to the higher level skills of Open Women.

I was pleasantly surprised that Catrina kept a cool head most of the time and even seemed friendly to most of the competitors. I hope she continues that. I really like watching her play.

Do we really need to rehash the "Catrina isn't nice enough" crap every time she plays?

Just finished watching Prodigy's Round 1 coverage.

What is with those baskets? Three, four, maybe more good putts that just bounced off the chains. It's like the chains are so dense that they don't have enough give....

Several times it caught my eye that Holly appeared to be teeing off with a driver in Starlite plastic, at least two different ones (I kept trying to read what they were and couldn't make it out. I usually have at least two drivers in Starlite in my bag, and it stood out to me because I don't think I've seen any other pros using them.

Those things have a wall of inner chains on them that stop lots of putts from going in. And yes Holly has quite a few starlite drivers in her bag. I know roadrunners and bosses are two of them
