I am by no means a "fanboy". But i do only throw one brand (well, 2, both molded by same company). I choose to do so based on my personal preferences. As someone who builds injection molds for a living, i tend to favor good craftsmanship and quality and am very picky about certain things. I also strongly dislike certain other (big) companies for their lack of quality control.

Just how my bag ended up what it is.

I don't think I'm what anyone would call brand loyal. My bag contains six different brands from five manufacturers. Couple of years ago, I had a 7th.

Most of what I throw is going to be from Innova, and Discmania. I suppose I could switch up, but I'm not really built of money, so I try to pick the battles of addiction I know I'll lose a bit more wisely. i.e. I only have 3x as many discs not in my bag as I do in it.

Right now, I bag 6 molds, all by different manufacturers.

Gateway Wizard
Westside Harp
Discraft Comet
Kastaplast Kaxe Z
Mint Alpha
Innova Firebird

But, I have been called a Trilogy fanboy here on more than one occasion.

Idiots.

why not take this a step further?

inside your fanboy cults you will habe the people that say "disc x is best and if you are not using it you are trash"

i tried to be one of those evangelical plastic pushers., but soon came to a realization that i am an idiot for doing so.

now i just explore most brands line ups trying to find replacements for some oop discs i have. or se if i can do better with a different mold...

I know the feeling unfortunately haha. Now I'm in the same boat as you. I've gone so far as to tell beginners that so long as the disc they pick isn't some redonkulous OS speed 13 driver that if they like the disc and it feels good in their hand they are probably going to throw it good regardless of brand or plastic. There is way way more to this game between the ears then that round chunk of plastic in the hand.
