Default Getting started

I'm looking to start playing competitively. How do I sign up/ get registered for tournaments? And how can I find local tournaments around me?

the home page on here isn't a bad start actually. Local club pages generally have a schedule of events as does the PDGA for some.

Get in touch with people in your area already doing the same who should help you get in where you fit in.

Looks like you're in Texas.
Here are the events listed in Texas by the PDGA.
Find the local leagues too, great way to meet people, improve your game, and ask all the questions you have about getting into the tourneys.

Local Leagues / clubs are a wonderful place to start. They're cheap usually around $5 for the day and you could end up playing with some 1000 rated players who can really help your game.

http://www.discgolfscene.com/ is a really good way to find leagues around my area although most states don't use it as much as Michigan does. Grand Woods even has a message board at hole 1 that has all the current happenings.

Hopefully this will give you an idea of where to start!
