About 2 years ago I started to sell my old discs on ebay. I would rather have the money then a disc that I am never going to throw because it is worth too much and on top of that it might crack. Most of what I have sold has been the better stuff that sold for $40-$130. I have been lazy this winter and haven't been listed them, but I need to start again.
As for the discs that have no value, I use them for water discs and courses with crazy thick rough. Sponsored Links

I sold off a good portion of my discs on FB and bought a new queen size mattress from that money. I had (have) way more than I'll ever need. Yet I just bought 7 new ones.

I'm really stunned that I don't see more disc swap meetups going on.

I have 8 bags (full bags ready for a round). I like them all. I gave #9 to my son a while back. Depending on where I'm going to play, I pick one out. Some are for wooded courses, short courses, long open courses. Courses with a lot of water where I might lose one or two. Windy days, calm days... I'd miss them if I got rid of them. I will sell to someone that lost a disc and needs one that I have. It's not like I won't be able to put a bag together for a round...

"Thoughts on reducing your Disc Inventory" Ah man...what a phase, which I'm guessing we all go through. Buy disc after disc, holding on to every bit of plastic, not knowing why. Then you play some tournaments and you win...more plastic. I am so glad this stage is long gone. When I cleared out my inventory (gave my bro a ton of discs to sell on ebay, sold some more on Facebook) it was like a weight was lifted. I could focus more on building my bag, etc, etc. Now days I just have a few backups of my main go to discs on hand as needed, cycle a few putters, and that's it. Others like to hold on to their discs, who knows.. they may be right to do so, they could be worth a ****e load down the road.

I used to have room to store about 300 discs. When I got close to 300, I would go on a selling spree (mostly here) and reduce the number. Have not done it lately. Takes too long to sell discs one by one and the post office rate has gone up and makes it harder to make a decent amount. Ended up getting more storage bins, but would would like to be able to take them out to a swap meet and sell some without paying postage. |
