Default Q: Hand Placement (not grip)

I've seen a bunch of posts/videos about grip....but nothing about hand placement. The disc is round like a clock...if you hold it so the top is facing you, where do you put your throwing hand for a RHBH throw? At the 3 o'clock position? At the 2 o'clock position? Somewhere else?

When are you talking about during the throw? Assuming 12 is pointed at target my hand is gripping from about 3-4 at the hit/release. During most of the swing from top of backswing to power zone my hand is more like 8-9 on the disc.

Sidewinder22...

Thanks for the response. To clarify, I throw from a stand-still right now. So when I first line up and take my grip, I hold the disc upright like a steering wheel. I place the disc in my right hand in the grip I'm using, then I lower the disc so it is flat. I aim it and start my reach back. In other words, if I am holding the disc out straight towards my target aiming it, prior to my reach back, where should my right hand be on the disc? By your answer, it seems you are saying the 3-4 o'clock position. Then during the reach back and most of the pull, it should be turned to the 8-9 o'clock position.

Correct.

When I start my grip, I'm standing upright and holding the disc flat with off hand at my center(between navel and sternum) and then grip lead hand onto the 12 o'clock if I'm lined up lateral to target or whichever way my shoulders are pointed at the time. So my hands would be 6 and 12 when both are on it and disc is at my center.

Then I go into aim and address the hit/release position I want.

Sidewinder22,

Thanks for that explanation....it's what I was looking for and also, thanks for the video link. I like your comment about aiming from the front of the tee pad. That makes sense as it is where you end your throw and where the aim needs to be accurate.
