Default Chicago to St. Louis

Another holiday, another road trip!

Here's the plan:

Saturday - Drive from Chicago to St. Louis, hitting up the top 3 Peoria courses
Sunday - Hmmmmmmmmmmm
Monday - Head home and hit up Centralia on the way

My question to the St. Louis natives is:

1) What are the can't miss courses in the general area?
2) Cardinals game on Sunday, or more disc golf?
3) Any other tips or warnings (i.e. tournaments or similar)?

It looks like there are a ton of great courses in the area, I just want to hit up the best of the best, without contending with any tournaments or anything.

Thanks y'all!

no tourneys this weekend, so you're good there.

1) best courses in the area (IMO):

sioux passage
rockspring
jefferson barracks
endicott
quail ridge
woodland
west city

sioux passage is probably the only "can't miss" course, but the others are very strong layouts- rockspring is pretty close/easy to hit up in conjunction with sioux.

2) why not both?

3) if JB is in your plans, be advised that there is a popular $5 random draw doubles match at noon on sundays that you'd be welcome to join.

i highly recommend the sioux/rockspring combo, not only cause i'd get to play course guide, but they are pretty close together, great courses, and fast eddies bar (a required stop for any trip to western illinois) is just around the corner from rockspring!

oh, and baseball sucks, and the cardinals suck even worse, so eff the ball game and play more golf!

1) Awesome, I absolutely love getting an insider's view on things.

2) Well, the game's at 3, so it would really take out a lot of my daylight playing time... it is a tough choice all right...

3) Thanks for the heads up. Another tough decision: get the insider view of the course with the doubles (can only help with multiple pin positions), or potentially play more courses, hmmm...

Thanks again for the info! If you want to meet up for a round on Sat or Sun too, I am all about spreading the DGCR love.

Holy crap Cardinals tickets are expensive!!!!!!!

That's an easy decision now.

All righty fan, I'll shoot you a PM when I get a better idea of what is going on. Are you set on doing the doubles?

On the way down to St. Louis or on the way back to Chi-town you may want to stop in at Springfield and hit up Lincoln Park. The two 18 holers in that park are definitely worth the drop in. Have fun in St. Louis...some great courses there. I would definitely hit RockSpring...it's great. And Fast Eddies is a must for lunch or dinner.

I doubt I'll have time... we are meeting up with some people in Peoria on Saturday, and Centralia on Monday is really the real reason for driving all the way down there.

But that is great advice, nonetheless. I haven't heard anything about those courses before; they are definitely on the radar now.
