Default Innova mid lineup. Your thoughts?

Right now, my mid lineup is Hornet, Buzzz, and Meteor. But I've been thinking about giving Innova's mids a try. I'm thinking Cro, Mako, Stingray. Any thoughts on that lineup?

I've not thrown a cro, but I know that a mako flies nice and straight over a decent power range, and a stingray is a classic for a reason. So you would have straight and right turning shots covered. A lot of people like cros but I don't know that they are overstable enough to be the most overstable mid mold you carry. I am not claiming to be an expert on the subject, just my two cents. This is all coming from a guy that had 5 rocs in his bag today.

Yeah, it's really the Roc and all it's flavors and that's about it. Stingrays, Skeeters, Panthers, Cros, Makos, Coyotes, Sharks, Spiders, etc are not bad discs per se but are mostly nothing special. Stingray is a really wide diam and understable enough to make it really specialized, same with Skeeter and Panthers except small diameter. Mako and Coyote are good all around finesse type mids but don't excel at anything really. Cros are glideless but that makes them easy to range. Sharks are like Rocs except not quite as versatile but they're beadless so they have that going for them.

With your mids, Hornet, Buzzz, and Meteor have some general familiarity with the rim profiles and what not whereas Cro, Mako, and Stingray are all drastically different feeling discs so that might take adjustment. Again, that's where Rocs in various wear trump again.

innova could get rid of like 75% of its slightly understable to understable mids and no one would notice.

I agree that you will probably need something more overstable than the Cro. The Cro is horrible in the wind. I throw a beat Super Roc for understable, Cro for straight shots, and a Vector for an overstable.

To be honest I have a bag full of Innova, only two of my discs, Vector and Ion, aren't Innova and I would say stick to Discraft or maybe try Latitude. Other than the Roc Innova could really use some assistance with their mids selection. Whoever said that they could get rid of everything but the Roc is telling the truth.

I like the shark and the cobra, and lots of people like stingrays. but other than that it is open season. weird how all of the good mids were at one point drivers, and the new small diameter mids and whatnot suck

Gator, Roc, Cobra or Stingray. If you don't like beaded discs, then head to Discraft for the wasp, Buzzz, and Meteor.

Random semi-derail:

Just looked at the Stingray's profile picture, and it's all bottom with a reeeeeeeeeeeeally flat top.

Normally, a super-flat disc is nice and overstable - what makes the Stingray buck this trend?
