The mods who moved these comments from the OG Roc thread. Not that I blame them, Roc3s really should be discussed in a separate thread, and since there is one, here we are.

Depends on what you want it for. I have several worn in Champ Roc3s that fly like fresh McPro/whatever they want to call it, so I prefer DX b/c I can beat it in a little faster (I don't play as often as I did a few years ago, so it takes more to season a disc). And to be honest, the DX Roc3s I have are not really that flippy yet, so why spend more for something that works just as well?

Never knew they moved them. Seems kinda odd since we can talk about other roc molds so why not the roc3

The OG Roc thread is kept 'pure' by the purists. The Roc3 got its own thread, the one here. All gravy...

I'm still trying to hammer out my mid lineup. It's going to be some combination of roc3 and comet. Any comparison of the different base plastics out there?

I've thrown almost every Roc3 plastic out there.

In terms of stability:

DX < McGlow = G* < Star < Luster < Color Glow Champ< Champ < Glow Champ < Metal Flake

I haven't tried Splatter Star, Shimmer Star, or DX Color Glow.

This is true in general, but a caveat from my own experiences: I was using Star Roc3s and the GStar Roc3 flew just like it. So I decided to try a (Paul McBeth 3x) Champion Roc3 as a more stable pairing. Alas... the Champion Roc3 flew virtually identically with my Star Roc3s: straight with a finishing fade.

The Metal Flake does start out a bit more overstable than the Champion and Star Roc3s, though. My DX Roc3 started out like the others, but beat in very quickly, so there's that.

I’m just here to say that I think ^this^ is “THE” Roc3 thread.
