If you can find a Sparkle FLX Force, your search will be over. Marshall Street very briefly had some NOS on clearance for $7.99 last year. Wish I would have bought them all. Maybe you could find one on eBay?

When I say "touchy" I mean it has a very narrow range between flat and max anny... If I throw it flat, it flies flat with minimal turn. Too much anny and it never recovers, so it is not a very forgiving disc for me on flex shots.

Thats what Im saying, my Nuke I can throw almost halfway tomahawk and it will still fade. At my arm speed its stupid beefy.

The Max is the most over stable distance driver, from my relatively extensive experience. The Stiletto is close.

That said, if you're over cooking a Boss, your form needs work.

I thought that would be the case, but I have (had) three nukes of varying weights and plastics and they each have their own personalities. My Z-lite is touchy on the hyzer side, the big-Z is flaky all over, and my z-flx is (was) less touchy than the big-z, but still easy to overshoot.

In comparison, my z-flx machete flies as you describe "stupid beefy", but so too does my raptor compared to the nuke.

Ultimately those behaviors is why I stopped trusting nukes in general. I had a couple I could work all kinds of lines with them and get good distance. I eventually just started throwing my forces.

If you want to stick with Discraft then I would also recommend the Force. I prefer the ESP, but Im at 6000+ feet of elevation so you may want to go with Z for some extra beef. They do well for me down in Austin, TX when I go visit the in-laws so dont automatically dismiss the ESPs. I prefer Xcals for this spot but the Force is a great choice too.

Nukes are actually fairly beefy. At 330' you shouldn't be seeing any turn out of a Nuke, and the disc will behave in a very overstable fashion. 330' is nowhere near enough arm to get high speed turn on a Nuke.

Nukes are notoriously inconsistent in stability. I've thrown flippy ones, and VERY overstable ones. Flat Nukes are absolute beef.

The Flick is actually a great sidearm disc, but not for flex shots or distance. Its very overstable and glideless. Its better for hooking around trees or other objects. It isn't affected by wind, and has an extremely predictable flight. There isn't another disc on the market (by any company) that behaves like a Flick.

Z or the new swirly ESP forces are great forehand discs. The nuke OS is also fantastic but you really have to mash on it. I will throw the DGA proline hellfire out there too. I’ve been loving it for that “firebird” slot. It’s a 10 speed, so slightly faster than a firebird/raptor, but it’s also a bit more overstable, but not as crazy OS as the machete. A good medium.

I only recently started experimenting with flick flex shots. I absolutely love my Z-Raptor. I can get really nice anny flex lines with it on a flick, and I can get that shot in the 300-330' range.

Like I said in Disclaimer #3, I also have a Discraft Machete in z-flx. (I also have a regular machete from Harbor Freight Tools that seems to get more use than I would like, but that's a different story).

I'm looking for a higher speed and/or glidey-er OS driver that I can throw like the raptor. I have to use a lot of anny on the machete and it autocorrects a bit faster than I'd like, so maybe I should focus on generating more speed with my throw and stick with the machete

-or-

Would you recommend that I try a:

Nuke OS (I say this because my regular nuke is very touchy and hard to pinpoint on the anny angle)
Flick (seems strange not to be trying a disc called the "Flick" when using a flick...
Force
Punisher (I have a rather light z-flx one of these but like the nuke, I run into problems finding just the right angle)

Any help would be appreciated!
Maybe try something a little more mellow but still stable, like a Defender? Brings glide to the table, should allow you to rely more on finesse than muscle.
