The course is a mess right now and there is a very serious issue with it being congested with rec players. Still fun though, I play it almost every day.

I will second InnocentCreek. Take the extra 30 minutes to Idlewild and Boone Woods. Idlewild is totally worth the drive and Boone Woods is just 5 minutes away. Lincoln Ridge is 30 minutes away from Idlewild though so I would say pick one or the other. On your way to Lexington though hit them both up and then in Lexington hit Riney B and Veterans park up. I used to live in Hebron 5 minutes from Boone Woods and Idlewild and I now live in Lexington. Hit me up when you are headed down and we can go through the courses. Veterans Park is near impossible without a guide or map.

I second Englewood. Good course, very pretty, not usually crowded and only about 8 miles out of your way from I-75.

Heritage is FLAT and OPEN and SHORT with virtually no trees. there is O.B. on every hole, however, sometimes within feet of the basket, that make it much more interesting than it looks. in the summer, the O.B. is left to grow into tall, dense thickets that produce many blind tee shots. right now, it's mown to the ground.

Looking for a diamond in the rough I would say this would be a good one. You'll have to drive a little east of Dayton to get there but the view on the back 9 is worth it. Down side is the tee pads.

BUCK CREEK STATE PARK DGC - Springfield

Description: Beautiful park - front 13 wooded and technical. Back 6 open up with a beautiful view of lake and marina. Camping available 1 mile away. Course redisgned in Aug/Sept. 2009.

Directions: From Dayton OH - Take I-70 east to Rte. 40. Head North off exit, 2.5 miles to Bird Rd. Take right on Bird Rd and go 2.5 miles(turns into park). In park, turn right past park office to 1st left past Marina entrance. 1st tee at mouth of woods at 2nd parking lot on right.
