Default GStar Daedalus

At my local shop, they have a purple 171g GStar Daedalus and man is it good looking. Love the swirly pearlescent look. But I controlled myself and did not buy.

Can anyone talk me in or out of buying the thing? I have never thrown a Daedalus before.

Purple discs are hard to find on the ground.

Daedalus are flippy if you have the arm speed to throw 12+ speed discs in general.

Are there any discs you'd like to be talked into buying?

It's the archer, not the arrow! What do you need with more plastic? I'm starting to sound like my wife!

I loved the way the Daedelus felt and the G* looks good, but it's way to flippy for me. Just squirrelly in the extreme.

I've seen lower power guys throw it well and far for them, and a couple older guys that like them for rollers. But personally not a big G* fan except in the cold.

The Daedalus is a nice driver. Good for some understable bombs. However, if I were you I'd get a Champion over GStar. Champion is way better plastic and it glides quite a bit better than GStar. I've thrown the Daedalus in both plastics and liked Champion a whole lot more.

I've even tried a (one) brand new champ Daedalus and it flipped into a roller, it was more sketchy than a star Vulcan. If you want a high speed disc with some turn in Gstar go with a Tern, they are still understable but much more manageable.

I have a GStar Daedalus that I got months ago, and I have a Star Daedalus that I found in a used rack somewhere but was in good condition. The GStar Daedalus is less stable than the Star Daedalus. Once you learn the Daedalus (in any mold), it could be a good disc in your bag.

Having said that: I find purple to be one of the hardest discs to find after throwing it, along with red and brown. I once found a purple DX Leopard and paid it forward by giving it to someone else. Mine old eyes struggle to see those dark colors. Can't speak for anyone else, but I'd recommend a brighter color.

I'm pretty sure the purple Gstar won't be dark and hard to find. AFAIK, they don't make a dark purple Gstar, its more of a fuchsia pink/purple and its easy to find, I have a few Gstar that color.

it is starting to sound like a Mamba that fools you into thinking it is a Tern.
