Default DGA M-14 Basket Vs. 21LED DGBDC Basket. Which is better?

Hi, I am looking at these two baskets. Here are a couple links from amazon to compare:

http://www.amazon.com/Portable-Targe...+double+chains

and

http://www.amazon.com/DGA-M-14-Disc-...sc+golf+basket

Does anyone know anything about either?

I own both of them (well, that 21led thing is a generic basket that has been sold under various names and mine was bought at a Costco). If go for the DGA M14 if I had to buy again.

Both baskets need to have chains added to bring them up to snuff. There are quite a few posts if you an advanced search for threads with the words costco basket in the subject and, separately for m14.

The generic basket comes with really light chains that catch pretty poorly in my opinion.

I've never even heard of 21 LED, but seems like Jed's in the know. I like the way the chains attach to the upper support assembly on the DGA... allows the chain to slide and goes up as it does to absorb energy and slow the disc better.

Have you looked at the Innova Discather Sport- http://www.discgolfcenter.com/main_d...duct.php?p=179

Catches great and it doesn't need extra chains.

Dont buy either of them grab one of these (link below) instead, best of all it ships free! The Sport needs no added chains, its heavier, will stand up to the elements better, the actual catching "basket" is deeper too.

By the time you pay shipping on those others you can grab a better out of the box basket for just a little more. Chain is not cheap to buy for "modding" a cheaper basket and will cost more than the difference of what you think you are "saving".

I will add that I own a Sport and believe you cant buy a better "out of the box" basket for the price.

EDIT: Looks like ROC beat me to the post and link . I was typing while he was posting .

I've got Sports and M-14s, among lots of other things, and agree with these two posts. Assuming it's in the budget, I find the sport significantly better than an M-14.

I've added chains to both. The sport with added chains is reasonably close to a standard basket.

No but the M-14 has huge gaps between the outer and few inner chains. I have a friend with the M-14. I have putted on it and there is no comparison. The M is lighter, has no tools break down and is more portable if that is the goal. The M is cheaper made than the sport, in respect to the M it costs less as well.

Look at some pics of the two or see them in person if you can. That will make the $35 up cost to the Sport seem all the more logical.

Here is the M-14 link: http://www.discgolf.com/disc-golf-ba...c-golf-basket/

Here is the Sport: http://www.innovadiscs.com/targets/d...her-sport.html

Click on each link and you can see the quality difference.

You can thank me later .
